Privacy Notice

The Kim Scott Walwyn Prize will process personal data collected for the purposes of running the Kim Scott Walwyn Prize (KSW) as the data controller. This means that we decide what your personal information is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. The legal basis on which we process the personal information of nominators, entrants, prize alumni, friends and subscribers is our legitimate interests in running the Prize. We have balanced our interests in processing your data against any impact on your individual rights and freedoms, and found that such impact does not override our interests. We will only ever use personal details for the purposes of running the KSW, and will not publish them or provide them without permission to anyone not involved in the KSW except as required by law. The names of the shortlisted and winning entrants and the biographical details provided will be published by the KSW as part of promotion.

The KSW will retain the name and contact details for the lifetime of the award to help run future awards, to maintain accurate records and answer any queries, unless requested otherwise. You can request to be removed from the KSW database by emailing KSWPrize@gmail.com. The KSW will review the list every year and securely destroy your information when it is no longer required. If you raise a concern with the KSW about the way it has handled your personal information, you are entitled to lodge a concern with a supervisory authority. In the UK, the supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
